Five Reasons Why The Gateway Resort, Damdama Lake, Gurugram Is An Ultimate Luxury Getaway

Who doesn’t love luxury vacations? Well, I wouldn’t even pretend otherwise, because I DO! And when you work very hard for months at end, you deserve a good break at the end of it. Sometimes the break involves adventure and sometimes luxury. A luxury vacation in my case is more a staycation where I check-in and do nothing, leave it to the hotel staff to pamper me.

A couple of months ago, I got a chance to spend a weekend at The Gateway Resort, Damdama Lake, Gurugram. Try to the Taj Group’s tradition, the property is huge and a luxury resort in true sense. I’d come back with  major hangover of the luxury experience and look forward to stay there again, some time soon.

If you ask me, The Gateway Resort, Damdama Lake, Gurugram is an ultimate luxury getaway. Let me explain why!

The Property

True to the role of a resort, this property is spread across 20 acres of land and houses luxurious rooms, pay areas for children and adults, large swimming pools, a golf course and a spa. The lobby itself is so impressive that I was floored even before I saw the rest of the property. Glass walls which looked at greenery on all its sides, the reception had completely different looks in the daytime and at night. Though it had not rained that day, I wish it had. The amount of nature and greenery there is inside the property, it would have been a divine feeling to experience amidst rainfall!

The Rooms

The rooms were in a few steps away from the main building which housed the lobby, the conference rooms, the bar and the restaurants. We were put up in the two-floor cottages, my room was on the top floor. Though it was in the middle of July, Gurugram was boiling. I won’t say much, take a look at my room and imagine chilling here.

 The Pool

Do I need to convince you or you will just look at the picture below? I didn’t get time to take a dip in the pool but the place was full at all times and one could really see people of all age groups enjoying there. The best thing was, soaking in the pool, right in the lap of nature.

The Restaurants

Oriental restaurant SIAN is open for lunch as well as dinner and brings to you, never-tasted-before flavours of China and boasts of 38 covers.

SWIRL is the eclectic in-house bar which brings to you a jaw dropping collection of fine drinks and finger foods.

Be it Indian, Continental, or Oriental – both the restaurants here will leave you satisfied and purring (if I may add) after every meal.

See this picture of gulabjamun, below? Yes, that’s a gulabjamun, split in half and that’s yummmmmy filling inside, was served to me in the room post dinner. Sigh, yes, yumm! *dreamy eyes*.
