Hi, I am Samarpita and this page is about me! I am the founder of Cover to Cover Writing Studio which has been providing written word content-related solutions for more than a decade now.

An ex-journalist with a Masters in Economics and a degree in Mass Communication. I have been reading and writing all my life, rather from the time I could read and write. I am now a full-time freelance writer-cum-editor. I have won various awards including  recognition from United Nations Volunteer.

Cover To Cover Writing Studio was born out of the desperate need to bring a productive change in the world of fictions in the country. After being a copyeditor for a while, I was on a career break when I’d started reviewing books for publishers and authors. It was then that I noticed how many good storytellers had extremely substandard novels to their names all because the publishers they could get didn’t care much for editing. I had been an editor for years before then, so it was natural that I get back to it – this time for authors.

Samarpita

Cover To Cover Writing Studio was born in Raipur, Chhattisgarh when my career was on hold due to a complete lack of English dailies in the city, and while I battled acute depression. It’s not just my career, but it is my life. Cover To Cover Writing Studio has saved me time and again, and it is a vocation I love so deeply and dearly that I treat it practically as my own child.

Below is an audio recording of my first ever radio interview with RJ Roopak of Radio Mirchi Bhopal where I spoke about freelancing and creating a niche for yourself while living in a small town. More about Cover To Cover Writing Studio and me below this screen.

Author/Book Talk

I love words, and I believe that words love me back. This is why this career which I called life, of creating beautiful words and beautifying words written by others means the world to me. The content I will create for you, or the manuscript that I will edit will never be just a source of income for me. I tend to get some involved that I remember the content I have worked with, even months later. Be it for writing, or editing I will remain by your side throughout the process. I am a stickler for transparency, so my clients get updates on the WIP at every step.

I have had the good pleasure of working with some remarkable professionals whom I have brought on board with me for a few of the services I now provide, like web designing and social media marketing. I don’t outsource work unless I am absolutely sure I can vouch for the standard of work that will be delivered. At least half my clientele has come back to me for repeated work, and the other half have referred me to their circles time and again. I value goodwill and believe that my work speaks for me.

A little humble brag never hurts anyone, so here are a couple of them.

  • I have been named one of the best freelance content creators in the country for three years in a row by EngineerBabu. Read all about it here.
  • I have been listed as one of the top book editors in the country. You can read about it here.
  • I was one of the six Indians to be recognised and awarded by United Nations Voluntary (UNV) in the year 2010.

  • One of the interviews I had written for the same UNV project, an interview on Babar Ali, is now part of the curriculum PUC 1 (class 11) students of Karnataka University in their English textbooks. Look at what august company I am in!
